You’ll be working on our 2001 Chevy Silverado, a reliable and easy-to-understand V8-powered truck that’s perfect for learning foundational skills like oil changes, fluid checks, spark plug replacement, and more. Whether your teen plans to maintain their first car or move on to advanced builds, this is the place to start.

🔩 Breakdown of Sessions

Session 1 – Engine Basics & Essential Systems 🏎️

Learn the key components of a car engine — engine block, cylinders, valve systems, belts, hoses, and sensors — and how they work together to keep the vehicle running.

Session 2 – Oil Changes & Fluid Maintenance 🛢️

Hands-on oil change practice with the 2001 Silverado. Learn to check and top off coolant, brake fluid, and transmission fluid. Get your hands dirty the right way.

Session 3 – Battery & Spark Plug Maintenance 🔋

Teens will practice inspecting and replacing car batteries and spark plugs. Understand cranking power, ignition problems, and how to test spark for performance.

Session 4 – Car Tune-Up & Full-System Practice 🏁

Put all the skills together in a full tune-up on the Silverado. Change oil, inspect plugs, top fluids, and troubleshoot basic performance issues from start to finish.
