This hands-on, high-energy mini-series drops them straight into the world of wrenches, torque, and mechanical problem-solving — no tech, no fluff, just real tools and real skills in a real garage.
Whether your teen dreams of racing or just needs to know how to use a socket wrench without Googling it, this is the perfect starting point. Taught in small groups with experienced mentors, each session builds foundational confidence and introduces life-long skills they’ll actually use.

Your teen will now complete a hands-on test to earn their Level 2 Certification in Safety & Tool Handling.

- Awarded: Safety & Tool Handling Certificate (Level 1)

- $129 — Safety Certificate Only (Testing Waiver Track)
- For experienced students who can prove tool mastery.
- Includes the Safety Certificate session only
- Must pass a knowledge + skills assessment covering tool ID, safe handling, and practical shop use. If you do not pass, you can apply your $129 toward the full 4-session Safety + Tool Mastery program by paying the difference.

🧪 Knowledge & Skills Assessment (Waiver Track)
To qualify for the Safety Certificate Only ($129 option), students must successfully demonstrate ALL of the following during the January 8 or 13 session:
🔧 Tool Identification (Verbal/Practical)
Students must name and correctly identify the function of at least 20 common shop tools, including:
- Socket set & ratchet
- Combination wrenches
- Screwdrivers (flathead, Phillips, Torx)
- Adjustable wrench
- Torque wrench
- Allen/hex keys
- Pliers (needle-nose, channel lock, slip-joint)
- Vice grips
- Mallet vs. ball-peen hammer
- Wire brush & file
- Impact driver vs. drill (corded/cordless)
- Jack & jack stands
- Oil filter wrench
- Funnel & catch pan
- Safety equipment (goggles, gloves, fire extinguisher)
🛡️ Safety & Respect Check
- Demonstrate proper PPE use (goggles, gloves, closed-toe shoes)
- Show safe lifting technique with jack & stands
- Follow shop traffic rules (walkways, tool placement, cleanup)
- Answer scenario questions (e.g., “What do you do if a tool breaks?”)
⚙️ Practical Handling Skills
- Correctly adjust a ratchet and remove/replace a fastener
- Demonstrate safe tightening sequence with a lug wrench
- Safely clamp material in a vice and use the proper tool without risk of injury
- Show correct procedure for unplugging and storing power tools
✅ Passing Standard
- 100% Safety Compliance (no unsafe actions tolerated)
- 85%+ Tool Identification Accuracy
- Successful Completion of Practical Skills
Students who meet this standard will be awarded the Level 1 Safety Certificate and may proceed into other mini-series without taking the full 4-session Tool Mastery.
