Mechanical Mini-Series 7: Advanced Engine Repair & Performance Tuning
Start: Saturdays, Sep 6, 2026 –Sep 27, 2026 · 12–2 PM
Duration: 4 sessions
💥 Master the Art of Engine Repair, Tuning & Diagnostics!
Get ready to push your skills to the limit in the final mini-series of the Mechanical Mastery Gear-Up Series. This is where teens transition from advanced mechanics to real-deal diagnostic experts — preparing our 2007 Silverado 4x4 Z71 Baja Support Truck for desert terrain and high-performance demands.
Teens will use the Autel MaxiSys MS919, one of the most advanced diagnostic tools on the market, to troubleshoot and tune real-world engine systems. From misfires and compression loss to fuel mapping and sensor calibration, this course brings pro-level tech into the hands of future mechanics and racers.
🔧 Why This Helps
This workshop is a direct pipeline to serious mechanical careers or racing team roles. Teens will leave with the confidence to diagnose and repair complex problems using dealership-grade tools — preparing them to work on performance trucks, track cars, or off-road vehicles like our Baja 1000 support rig.
🔍 Breakdown of Sessions
• Session 1 – Advanced Troubleshooting & Timing Diagnostics
🔧 Teens will explore valve timing, ignition systems, and advanced troubleshooting with timing lights, multimeters, and the Autel MS919.
• Session 2 – Compression & Sensor-Based Repairs
📊 They’ll run compression and leak-down tests on the 2007 Silverado, calibrate sensors, and identify performance bottlenecks using scan data from the Autel system.
• Session 3 – Air/Fuel Ratio & Fuel Mapping Basics
⚙️ Learn how to tune engines using injector data, oxygen sensors, and real-time diagnostics. This is the gateway to pro-level engine mapping.
• Session 4 – Baja Tune-Up & Diagnostic Challenge
🏁 Teens will take on a real-world diagnostic challenge using the Autel MaxiSys MS919, then complete a full tune-up on our Baja support truck, prepping it for the kind of stress only desert racing delivers.
🔧 Featured Vehicle:
2007 Chevy Silverado 4x4 Z71
This truck will be built as our official Baja 1000 support rig — giving teens the opportunity to work on suspension, drivability, tuning, and race-day diagnostics that mirror what pro teams rely on in endurance motorsports.
